Feeling Pretty Wearing Scarves and Wigs

Cancer is a terrible disease that affects millions of people around the world. Although there is still no cure, chemotherapy and radiation treatments have been shown to help fight the illness. An unfortunate side effect, particularly for women who undergo such treatments, is hair loss. Many women have a very hard time dealing with hair loss and may not even want to go out in public because they are uncomfortable with the way they look. Using scarves and wigs, however, can give a woman back her self esteem. There are many options available to women who want to look stylish and chic in their scarves and wigs.

Scarves can be tied, arranged, and designed in lots of interesting ways. Stretch headbands can be used to keep a scarf in place so that it is comfortable and does not bother your eyes. Simply pin your scarf into your headband to stabilize it. Many women prefer to use silk scarves, but they retain heat and can be quite uncomfortable at times, making lightweight fabrics a better option in most cases.

Wigs give you a chance to try out several different styles and colors, so they are extremely versatile. You can use just about any kind of wig; you do not have to purchase special cancer patient wigs. You should be careful, however, to protect your sensitive scalp. Monofilament wigs are good for this, since they are designed for women who have moderate to severe hair loss. These wigs are hand tied and are made to be extra comfortable.

Remember that you want to look and feel beautiful with your scarves and wigs, so make sure you choose those that fit your personality and style. Higher quality scarves and wigs will be a little more expensive, but they look nicer, last longer, and are much more comfortable.
