According to doctors currently studying the issue, it seems that, yes, fat kids are likely to become fat adults. The situation, however, is far from hopeless.
Medical studies prove that children as young as 5 years old who are obese are 10 times more likely to become obese adults than children how have a normal BMI at that age. Often, the causes of childhood obesity are poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle that includes little to no physical activity. The problem is that these habits are difficult to change once they have been set in place since childhood.
