No Special Foods
Purchasing special foods is not necessary in a diabetic diet, but balance proportions of foods that are low in fat and sodium assists the body by not having to concentrate all its efforts into turning those foods into fuel sources for the body. Foods high in fibers and low in carbohydrates are what will help regulate the sugar levels in the body. Regular foods that are normally eaten by everyone can be used in the diabetic diet. By broiling, baking or dry pan frying foods, much of the fat content is removed and many of the high fat calories as well. Frying food adds calories that are not needed. Learning to eat to live, not live to eat is a lesson each diabetic must become adept at understanding.
